TRUSTEE CLUB BREAKFAST MEETING
Need to recruit Trustees? If the answer is yes, then come along to the next Trustee Club meeting on 7th November 2019 and hear from two local organisations about how they found new trustees and the support available in Dorset for organisations looking for trustees.
The Trustee Club supported by Ward Goodman, aims to support Chrity Trustees, Social Enterprise Directors and Management Committee Members to provide good governance and effective leadership which is fundamental to the success of their organisations. This is the only network in Dorset which exists solely to support Trustees, Social Enterprise Directors and Managers of not-for-profit organisation from across the sector.
Our guest speakers will be Becky Sharp from Wessex Museums Trust and Sue Fleet from Volunteer Centre Dorset.

8.15 am “Trustee Recruitment – our experience” Becky Sharp, Wessex Museums Trust. This presentation will cover the trust’s experience of recruiting Trustees, the initial difficulties they encountered and how they turned things around.

The Dorset Community Action Annual Funding Fair, will follow on from the Trustee Club. This event provides an opportunity to for charities, community groups and social enterprises to talk face to face with funders, attend funding related workshops, access support and network with other organisations seeking funds. DCA has 50 years of experience providing professional business support to local VCSE organisations and Ward Goodman, as an advisor to the Trustee Club, will bring specialist knowledge in areas including governance, trading activities, gift aid, accounting, auditing and financial reporting.
The Club will provide members with:
– News and updates from Charity Commission, ICO, Fundraising Regulator etc
– Faciliatated discussions forum for members to have questions answered and shair their experience
– Access to DCA linked network of support organisations, e.g. solicitors, accountants, etc..
– Access to tools, resources and training
– Networking opportunities
