The future of the Post Office Network

Stakeholders have outlined the challenges facing post offices in a one-off an oral evidence session to the Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) Committee. Subpostmasters warned that post offices are at risk as operators are facing falling incomes and higher costs. Read more

Age Concern North Dorset is an independent charity providing services for the over 50’s. The main office is based in Sturminster Newton and it supports the town and the surrounding villages. Read more

Village Hall Improvement Grant Fund

The Autumn 2018 budget announced that, to mark the centenary of the Armistice, government would support several initiatives, including making available grant funding to support improvement projects for village halls. The grant funding will be managed by ACRE on behalf of Defra with support from the ACRE Network. The grant aims to help fund the updating and refurbishment of village halls so that they are fit for purpose and provide activities.... Read more

£3 million grant for village halls

On Friday 5 April Nottinghamshire MP Robert Jenrick and Defra Minister for Rural Affairs Lord Gardiner launched a £3m grant for the improvement of village halls. Read more

Green Island Holiday Trust

Every summer the Green Island Holiday Trust organises six one-week supported holidays for people with disabilities who live in Dorset and Hampshire. The holidays provide an opportunity to meet new friends, explore new places and have lots of fun whilst enjoying a varied programme of activities and outings. Read more

Standing as a local councillor

In May 2019 residents across Dorset will be electing their councillors for the new Dorset Council. This new unitary council replaces the previous County, District and Borough Councils. Read more

This new website is a hub of information promoting the power of music for people living with dementia. It details the benefits, outlines the different musical activities available and gives clear advice on how to make music a part of the daily lives for people living with dementia. Read more

Funding available from Wessex Water Money Matters Fund to support debt prevention

Wessex Water believes in helping people to understand financial matters and take effective decisions regarding money. Wessex Water is working with Quartet Community Foundation to administer Wessex Water Money Matters grants for activities that support financial capability and money management projects for people who face financial difficulties.
