The role

It is the mission of Dorset Community Action (DCA) to encourage and support communities in Dorset to improve people’s lives, particularly those most disadvantaged. DCA is an independent charity, providing information, advice, networking and support services to community and voluntary organisations of all shapes and sizes.

 

We are looking for people with a range of skills and knowledge, who reflect the diversity of the groups and communities we serve.  Previous charity trusteeship is preferred though not essential, and we are keen to involve people with following skills and experience: 

 

  • Finance and management accounting;

  • social enterprise;

  • marketing and sales;

  • media/PR.

 

While a commitment to attend Board meetings around six times per year is important, so too is a willingness to get to know, and provide guidance and support for the operational staff team.
