Music for Dementia 2020 are delighted to announce that The Utley Foundation has launched the Music for Dementia 2020 website in direct response to the recommendations made in the ILC-UK’s Commission: What would life be, without a song or dance, what are we: a report from the commission on dementia and music, presented at the House of Lords in January 2018.

This new website is a hub of information promoting the power of music for people living with dementia. It details the benefits, outlines the different musical activities available and gives clear advice on how to make music a part of the daily lives for people living with dementia.

Dementia needs a collective response and by bringing together the music and dementia sectors within this one platform we can make music a reality for everyone living with dementia.

With your help we will add lots more content to the site to promote the exciting work already happening behind this campaign. We are working hard to grow our database showing the amazing musical activities available across the UK and this will be made live in the coming months.

We need your support

As you are aware, our Music for Dementia 2020 campaign is all about collaboration. We are creating a movement on a national level to make music available for everyone living with dementia by 2020. We would love to highlight that your organisation pledges its support for this campaign by adding your logo to the Support Section of our website. If you would like to be included in this section please Contact Us.

Help us to grow the campaign by telling everyone you know about Music for Dementia 2020 – spread the word on social media via Twitter and Instagram. Tell us about all the great things you are doing. But most of all sing from the roof tops that ‘music is a necessity for people living with dementia and we need to act now.’
