Representation

Dorset Community Action is committeed to working with voluntary and community organisations, groups, societies and social enterprises to have a greater say in the services available to them.   At local, regional and national level, we work in partnerships and networks to represent the needs of the people of Dorset and the groups that work with them.

Community and Parish Planning
Community and Parish Planning is a process by which the whole community can voice their opinions on what actions they wish to see taken in their local area in the future to meet local needs.   Community and Parish Plans belong to the community and can help prioritise resources, influence the policies, decisions and actions of others such as Local Authorities.

Community and Parish Plans are reliant on the whole community contributing to identifying the issues to be tackled and DCA can help with information, community consultations, networking, funding sources, prioritising and action planning.

The Dorset Voice Project
The Dorset Voice Project collates messages and suggestions about issues that affect voluntary and community organisations, their members or clients.

The Voice Project works with partners to co-ordinate voluntary sector forums and elect representatives onto the Dorset Strategic Partnership.   Messages collected by the project, often go through these forums.

Voluntary and Community Sector Representatives are your voice within the Dorset Strategic Partnership.   They work hard to influence decisions, so that appropriate changes can be made to improve services and communities.   The Voice Project strives for true partnership working.

Dorset's Third Sector Infrastructure Group
