Voice

Welcome to Dorset Voice.

AIMS:

The Voice Project aims to get true representaton on local strategic partnerships for the voluntary and community sector.  It is working towards this by identifying existing opportunities and creating new ones to engage voluntary and community groups and organisations in participative democracy.

TRAINING:

Voice partnership development officers are now offering free half day training sessions, to anyone working or volunteering in the voluntary and community sector who would like to know more about, skills for influence, skills for partnerships, the roles and responsibilities of representatives or an outline of our local strategic partnership.

PARTICIPATION:

Groups can engage at a variety of levels,

Level 1.  Send us a bug and become part of Dorsets 'Third Sector Community.'

Katy Pascoe is actively 'bug hunting,' across the county.  'Bugs' are any messages, issues, or  suggestions your group, organisation, community or clients would like to be taken, to those making decisions about the services we recieve in Dorset.

If you are involved with a voluntary or community group that has something to say, let us know at the , 'What's Bugging You,' pages.

Level 2.  Join one of our themed 'Third Sector Forums.'

Dorset’s Third Sector Forums aim to strengthen and support the county’s voluntary & community organisations, groups, societies and social enterprises, by providing a forum for discussion and a representative strategic voice for the sector.  Agendas can be varied and meetings are often a good chance to network and information share with other organisations with similar interests to your own.

Membership of all the themed forums is open to any third sector organisation with an interest in that area of work. By joining a forum, your organisation will be added to an email list so that you can receive targeted information related to policy developments, funding opportunities, meetings and consultations relevant to that theme. To find out more please click on one of the forum/network names from the list below.

Level 3.  Nominate to stand as a Voluntary Sector Representative.

Organisations can nominate a member or employee to stand in elections for the role of 'Elected 3rd Sector Representative.'  Our reps work hard within the Dorset Strategic Partnership to ensure that the Voice of the voluntary and community sector is heard, so that we can contribute meaningfully to community planning.
