Healthy Communities Small Grants Programme

Date:
2 December, 2011

The People’s Health Trust

The People’s Health Trust is a registered charity which funds projects addressing health inequalities across England, Scotland and Wales. The Trust is funded by 51 local society lotteries and the good cause money they raise through The Health Lottery.

The Healthy Communities Small Grants Programme is now open in our area under the auspices of HealthFull; which covers Somerset, North Somerset, North East Somerset, Dorset, Poole and Bournemouth. The Healthy Communities Programme makes grants of £5,000 - £10,000 to small community and voluntary organisations to support an improvement in health and well-being in their local communities. The Healthy Communities Programme begins in October 2011 and is suitable for projects that:
• are requesting between £5,000 and £10,000
• last up to 12 months
• are based and operate within one of the local society lotteries
• are run by local charities and community groups with an annual income of less than £75,000 a year

Please read the guidance notes and eligibility criteria at their website www.peopleshealthtrust.org.uk before requesting an application form. The closing date for applications in this area is 3 January 2012. It’s anticipated that between 6 and 8 grants will be made from the Healthy Communities Programme in the HealthFull area.
