DORSET SCHOOL TRANSPORT ACTION GROUP

Recent Dorset County Council school transport policy changes have caused short term organisational problems leading to huge frustrations, but the longer term provision of safe, reliable, affordable and ideally, sustainable routes to school is a major concern for parents and carers in Dorset. This new group will co-ordinate a county-wide response to Dorset County Council, but need as much information as possible and as many contributors to support the resolution of:

• Transport chaos following new bus contracts
• Increased fares
• Increased cost of replacement bus passes
• Safety of walking routes
• Safety of school buses with no seat belts
• Access to education (particularly post 16)
• and anything else which affects you
