Funding Help

DCA can offer information, advice and practical help with your project funding. Whether your project is a small local scheme to benefit a group within your community, a project for a whole village, or a large project to improve the economy of a larger rural area, then we have staff that have the information, knowledge and experience to help you.

Funding Advice Service

Our Funding Adviser is Chris Carman. Chris works from the DCA offices in Dorchester offering a Dorset-wide funding advice service for the Voluntary and Community Sector. She offers advice on potential funding streams for projects and can assist in getting groups Fit for Funding, as well as helping groups develop sustainable funding strategies. She will also be happy to check grant applications before groups submit to funders.

As Chris works county-wide she has a fairly substantial workload, however, she works alongside Dorset's other Funding Advisers so advice for groups should be easily accessible.

 Funding Information Service

The expansion of this area of our website is continuing apace. We are now offering on-line funding information - which is continually updated - under the following headings:  Information, Awards & Competitions, Grants, Newly Registered Trusts and a Stop Press section. These can be accessed via the menu on the left of this page.

The Grants section will now be sub-divided. To start with, there will be the following categories; Arts, Environmental, General, Health, Sport, Youth. More categories will probably emerge and I’ll point them out to you as they appear.
These changes have become necessary as the amount of information we are including has grown considerably. As always, your comments would be most welcome.
A new section entitled Advice and Information Sheets is now available.
